This beach photo was taken while traveling along the ocean's coast from Washington down to California. We would take every opportunity to stop at the ocean, which happend very (!) frequently, to walk up onto the beach to watch the waves for a while. In this case, the surf coming in big waves from the ocean were crashing onto the black sand. I emphasized the size of the waves by using that oddly shaped and quite colorful driftwood in the foreground in the point of view.
