I have never been fortunate to see this rare English Swallowtail Butterfly in the wild .My photograph was taken at a Butterfly house in Syon Park, London about 15-20 years ago.The camera I used was a 35mm Pentax LX and a 90mm Tamron Macro lens. The film was Kodak Elite.

Using a print of my original photograph I produced this heavy glass paper weight.It is quite heavy 262gms and measures 9.5cm long and 6.5cm at the widest point.It is approximately 2.8cm thick.The back is finished with a black synthetic, baize material.

The English Swallowtail papilomahaon- now a rare endangered species is confined to the fenlands of Norfolk,Suffolk and Cambridgeshire in eastern England. It is on the wing from April to August and has a life span of three to four weeks.

This item will bring a breath of an English summer to your desk or work station .It would make an ideal gift for any lover of butterflies or natural history. It has been made in a non-smoking,pet free environment.
