A beautiful Wedding Guest Book with covers of lime / chartreuse green Swedish linen. Perfect for a rustic, outdoor or handmade themed wedding; also great for a beach wedding or garden party.

The book has a rustic style binding, in hemp cord, which is a hybrid of a Coptic and Longstitch binding.

There is a decorative stitch detail and stitching is made over a linen spine, which wraps round from the front to the back cover, enhancing the stitching and protecting the pages from dust.

The strong hemp binding cord is an off-white colour and has been lightly waxed with beeswax, to add strength and smoothness.

The linen fabric is designed by Swedish designer Eva Jemt, for the "Skimmer (Shimmer)" range, by Nord.

It is woven with a white warp thread and a green weft (the thread that "goes in and out"), so it has an interesting two-tone effect.

At the edge, there is a panel with green warp and weft threads, making an inch-wide solid green decorative strip. I have used this to embellish the bound edge of each cover.

The fabric has been hand-lined with fine paper, to make bookcloth; this makes it stronger and stops it stretching, so a crisp, even covering can be achieved.

The covers were first lined with matching green handmade lokta mulberry paper, before the bookcloth was laid over the top. This ensures there is no "show through" of the book boards underneath, as the fabric weave is fairly loose.

The same green lokta paper continues inside each cover and at the bound edge, allowing the green strip to be used as a feature on the front of the covers.

Inside, there are 27 pages of creamy-white Fabriano Artistico paper, in a medium weight, with soft hand-torn edges. This is a beautifully crisp paper, with a smooth feel, but a slight texture. It is good for writing on (you could also draw on it, as it is artists' paper).

The pages are arranged in sets of two pairs (ie. four pages together); between the pairs, there are spacers of matching paper, to make a bit more volume in the binding. This means that you could include tags, cards or photos in your book, though it is not designed to be used exclusively for photos. I would not recommend putting photos on more than 50% of the pages.

The outside measurements are 10.5" (27cm) x 8.5" (22cm). Pages measure 10.25" (26cm) x 8.25" (21cm). The book will open flat throughout, allowing you to write on the whole page area.
