Sun wheels are a frequent motif of many ancient cultures. Spinning eternally, they symbolize the penetration of light into darkness, of emergence from chaos, the changing of the seasons, and the evolution of a thing from its rising, to its height, and eventually its setting/close. The sun wheel is one of my favourite folk images to crochet. This blanket is done using the mosaic technique and was inspired by a knitting chart originally published in the early 70s by metaphysical author Barbara G. Walker. It measures 69x50" and is done in bone and navy blue. Acrylic/wool blend, dry clean or hand wash only, tumble dry on low or lay flat.
