Rustic Christmas Stocking - Vintage Fabric, Preserved Greenery, Artificial Berries - Rusty Bell and Snowflakes
This stocking is approximately 15in high and 7in wide.
I designed and created this primitive stocking in my mountain workshop. I made the front with burlap and used a lovely vintage fabric with plenty of rich detail and texture for the top. I made a bow which I fastened down with a vintage button and a rusty bell, finally adding some rusty snowflakes all down the front. The back and lining of the stocking is made of muslin.
After completing the stocking I filled it generously with a mixture of artificial greenery and preserved sweet annie. To top it off I added cinnamon sticks, real glittered twigs and some artificial glittered berries and candies. I stained the entire piece with my coffee and spice mixture and 'sparkled' the top of the stocking with glass glitter.
I added just a touch of cinnamon orange spice oil for a pleasing holiday aroma. The vintage fabric is one of a kind so items made using this is very limited.
