Tell us a bit about yourself and peiliminiatures ?
I'm living in sunny Singapore and love creating handmade dollhouse miniatures. I started this passion around 2005 and never looked back since.
Throughout the years, I've also adapted some of the dollhouse miniatures into wearable food jewelry which is beginning to be a hit.
My goal is to create highly realistic miniatures which in turn bring a smile to your face.

How did you get started in doing what you do? How long have you been creating?
I started from collecting some miniature toys several years ago. Fascinated with them, I wanted to learn how to make them. After attending some classes locally and overseas, I was hooked and never looked back since. I've been creating dollhouse miniatures since 2005.

Where do you get your inspiration?
I actually get my inspiration from everyday life. I enjoy browsing magazines, particularly zakka, home decor, flower arrangement magazines to find pieces that arouse my interest. Most of my pieces are ideas taken from either magazines or pictures that I come across while surfing the web. I enjoy surfing the website looking for beautiful desserts and pastries - and I try to replicate them into dollhouse miniatures. I feel very lucky to have so many sources of inspiration for my work.

What was your first creation? Do you have a favourite?
My first creation was actually a mini scene of a kitchen entirely made out of paperclay. Though it was very amateurish looking, it marked the beginning of a passion that I never imagined I would become so fond of. As time goes by, every new item that I create becomes my favourite, so it is hard to pick just one.
But over the years, I have grown particularly fond of flowers and plants as they bring a sense of peace and calmness whenever I see them. In real life, flowers would wilt and die, but the beautiful thing about miniatures is that you can capture and admire their beauty forever. Because of that, I have grown to appreciate and enjoy flowers and plants even more.

What have you created recently?
I am currently working on building my first room box for a Latidoll. I am making a bakery for her and it has been an exciting as well as challenging moment for me as I am pushing myself to create lots of desserts and pastries for this bakery room box. I blog about it from time to time at my blog http://www.miniaturepatisseriechef.blogspot.com
Interestingly I have also created life size fake macarons recently and fell in love with them, so I will be making more of them soon!
