I just got back from Melbourne and I can't help but to reminisce the great time I had there. Melbourne, is pretty similar like the current city I'm living, it's not too busy and it's not too laid back. And most important thing is there is always something for everyone out there regardless you're a coffee lover, a fashionista, or a beach lover!

Thus, there is no reason not to pay this beautiful city a visit! If you're planning to visit Melbourne, I've compounded a huge list of things you MUST do!

1. Visit Shrine of Remembrance

Shrine of remembrance is one of Melbourne's most crucial and iconic landmarks. It is build to honour Australians who have served in a World War I. Aside from soaking yourself in the rich history, you could have a breathtaking view on the Melbourne's cityscape from the stairs or the top of Shrine of Remembrance.

***The shrine opens 9am - 5pm daily (closed on Good Friday & Christmas).
Admission is FREE

2. Relax at Royal Botanic Garden
If you have a thing for flowers or nature, DON'T miss Royal Botanic Garden. It is right opposite Shrine of Remembrance, thus I highly recommend you to drop by there! Royal Botanic Garden was established in 1846 and the gardens has over 50k plants from all around the world.

3. Feast Your Eyes with Amazing Street Art at Hosier Lane
You've probably already seen tons of photos of Hosier Lane! It is one of the most recognisable from many tourism photo campaigns and it is definitely one of the most popular things to do in Melbourne. If you're interested in street art, there are still many laneways which you can explore aside from the famous Hosier Lane.

Introducing my friend, Cassie!

4. Shop at Queen Victoria Market
I always love to visit local market as it is the best way to grab some local food and of course souvenirs! Queen Victoria Market is an outdoor market with a mix of food sellers and knick-knack vendors. I would suggest you to visit during the weekend as the offerings are bigger!

If you love fresh flowers, Queen Victoria Market has a flower shop that sells a wide array of gorgeous fresh flowers!

5. Admire Flinders Street Station

You do not visit Melbourne if you do not visit the Flinders Street Station. Flinders Street Station, which was built in the ate 19th century is a major landmark and popular meeting place in central Melbourne. One thing which makes me fall head over heels is the station features Victorian era design.

However, I could only admire the magnificent building from the pictures, as it was under maintenance. lol

6. Stroll Along Yarra River
One thing which I enjoyed a lot is taking a stroll alongside its most famous resident - the Yarra River! This is a great thing to do for free in Melbourne regardless it is during the day or night! During the day, if the weather is fine, you could have a picturesque view of the city. Whilst, during the night, you can see the stunning city lights! For a bit of fun, you can also catch a water taxi or a Yarra cruise from Southbank Promenade.

7. Take Instagram Worthy Pictures at Brighton Beach
Aside from the Hosier Lane, Brighton Beach which is the home to the famous bathing boxes, is definitely the second most popular attraction in social medias! It has 90 brightly coloured bathing boxes that line the foreshore and you could literally take tons of portrait or #ootd shots here.

Apart from bathing boxes, you could enjoy a long walk down the pier where you can see the beautiful skyline of Melbourne. We even brought some snacks there and have a picnic. P.S There's a traditional fish and chip stores right opposite the pier, they serve pretty good fish & chips and the price is reasonable.

8. Head up The Eureka Skydeck 88 for Epic Views Over Melbourne
Soak up a spectacular 360 degree view of Melbourne with a visit to Eureka Skydeck 88, the highest viewing platform in the Southern Hemisphere. From here you could admire the beach in the distance, other skyscrapers and also those iconic landmarks such as Flinders Station. If you're thrill-seekers, don't forget to upgrade your ticket so you could experience 'The Edge' - a moving, glass-bottomed cube that lets you hover over the city streets 88 floors below.
We went there during the evening so we could catch sunset and night view. This is a 'bokeh' sunset shot I took around 7.10pm.

This is one of my favourite view! You could literally see those iconic landmarks including Flinders Street Station.

Seriously, how could you not love these gorgeous views.

9. Chill at St Kilda Beach, Hunt for Penguins, & Have Fun at Luna Park

I've got to say my favourite beach in Melbourne is not Brighton but St Kilda! Just a short distance from the city and you will find yourself on sandy shores surrounded with great bars and restaurant. Whether you're a swimmer or sunbather, you will find numbers of adventurous activities such as kite-surfing, sailing, and water-skiing here. Most important thing is you get to hunt for penguins without going to Philip Island (best of both worlds)!

After some sun bathing, it's time to have some fun at the Luna Park! The entrance fee is FREE, so you could still go in even though you don't feel like playing.

Cassie was super excited after getting the HUGE blue cotton candy!

10. Visit State Library of Victoria
Yes, Library! I'm definitely not joking. By far, this is the most beautiful library I have come across. The State Library of Victoria was designed by Joseph Reed who also designed some of the most iconic buildings in Melbourne. The library now has over 2 million books, including several important historical documents.

This view literally took my breath away! If only the library in my city is so beautiful lol.

Opening hours:
Monday to Thursdays 10am to 9pm
Friday to Sunday 10am to 6pm
Library galleries are open daily from 10am to 5pm.

11. Hop on The City Circle Tram

The City Circle Tram is a must-do. For one, it gives you a nice overview of Melbourne's top tourists attractions. More importantly, it's FREE. Just look for a burgundy and cream tram and hop right on.

Trams run in both directions approximately every twelve minutes between 10am and 6pm Sunday to Wednesday and extended hours, 10am - 9pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Clockwise service: Flinders Street > Harbour Esplanade > Docklands Drive > La Trobe Street > Victoria Street > Nicholson Street > Spring Street > Flinders Street.
