This box has sides made from quartersawn Walnut and a highly figured/spalted Maple top. The top has a little bit of everything really... figure, spalting, burl... Definitely a little box that grabs the eye.

The joinery on this box is miters with Maple miter keys which have a dual purpose in adding both a decorative element as well as making the miter joint stronger.
The bottom of this box has a quality upholstered, velvet lining in a smoke-grey color. My interiors are precision fit and installed.
Finished with a variety of products to enhance the grain as well as provide a high-gloss appearance. Finishing is the most variable and potentially complex part of woodworking. I easily spend the majority of time in my builds in finishing. Many stages... many products are involved in order to achieve what you see in my final products.
The bottom of this box is branded with my branding iron as well as signed and dated.
