This well-executed keepsake box has all the fine details including an elegantly inlaid border on the top, upholstered lining, and attractively finished to a warm luster. This is a gorgeous box has a classic, timeless appeal to it in my opinion.

The sides and top of this box are Mahogany. Inlaid into the top is a banding featuring Walnut and Holly.
The joinery on this box is miters with Walnut miter keys which have a dual purpose in adding both a decorative element as well as making the miter joint stronger.
The padded lining is upholstered with a tan velvet fabric which visually touches on the light brown Walnut miter keys and Walnut in the inlaid banding
Finished with a variety of products to enhance the grain as well as provide a high-gloss appearance. Finishing is the most variable and potentially complex part of woodworking. I easily spend the majority of time in my builds in finishing. Many stages... many products are involved in order to achieve what you see in my final products.
