Natural stone necklace with a white copper Upper Peninsula of Michigan charm.
The stones were found on the shores of Marquette Michigan by me. They were shaped naturally by the waves and sand. Tumbled by the big lake and landed on shore where I picked them up, took them home and I drilled them. I then attached the charm that I made from white copper PMC clay, fired in a kiln, filed and hand hammered for texture.
The stones are rhyolite, which is formed from quickly cooling lava just like basalt, it is rich in silica and potassium, whereas basalt is poor in these minerals and richer in iron, and other minerals. Coloration of Rhyolite will vary depending upon the mix of silica and iron and some of the trace minerals.
The 18” chain is lead free base metal and has a ball chain connector closure.
