A surprise venture for us... but listed due to popular demand...
These little soap dishes started out as display units for our soap at house parties and shops. Initially they weren't even for sale!!! But, as people started to ask how much they were even asked shops to get us to make more we decided to add this to our product list.
Our native Irish willow is grown just down the road from us at Wellig Crafts. They specialise in basket weaving and provide us with top quality willow whenever demand requires it. They also provide us some English willow (a darker, almost black colour).
These are rough and ready rustic soap dishes. The willow is wound together with twine and sealed with wax to stop the twine fraying.
Our dish has been in use for almost 2 years and is still going strong. If it gets clogged up with soap you simply take an old toothbrush or scrubbing brush to it and give it a clean.
The irish willow is a natural green/brown tinge that goes darker with age. The English willow is a black/red colour that tends to darken with time.
