This Art Deco 1930's brass brooch of a lady walking the dog is quite large. It measures 2-13/16ths ins high (7.1cm). At the base it measures 2-.6/8ths ins wide.(4.4cm).It is in good condition for it's age and was found in a very poor condition covered with mud and verdigris. It currently shines quite brightly. It weighs 50grms.
It does have some damage marked by red X in the photos of the front and rear.
This appears to be slightly corroded. It may clean up with more enthusiastic cleaning. On the front in the sleeve area it just looks like a fold in the sleeve.
There is a small area on the dog's foot. On the rear the most noticeable area is on the feet and shoes marked X which again is a degree of corrosion. There are also some very minor surface scratches on the front of the lady's blouse, but these are not generally visible from a distance and are commensurate with age and use.
The roll catch safety clasp has been repaired rather clumsily some time ago by a previous owner.
Overall the damage does not detract too much from very interesting brooch on a popular Art Deco theme. The price reflects the condition.
It comes from a non-smoking, pet free environment.
