The covers of these notebooks are pages of a discarded copy of the lovely book, The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden. In 1906, Edith Holden recorded in words and paintings the flora and fauna of the British countryside through the seasons. These notebooks’ covers show some of these gorgeous paintings and words - this set has lovely spring/summer drawings.
The inside pages of these notebooks are of 1cm squared paper which was rescued from unwanted school jotters. Each notebook has 16 pages (32 sides) of this paper. They are hand sewn with different colours of thread.
Each notebook measures approximately 17cm (6.25in) x 21 cm (8.25in).
These notebooks are a joy to use because of the beautiful paintings and writings of Edith Holden. They can be used for all sorts of notes and lists. They would be fantastic for keeping accounts and may even turn them into a pleasure!
