This set is called "Bold vs Natural" ~
This listing is for a set of 6 READY TO GO(no waiting!), lavender-filled wool dryer balls.
These are made with clean carded sheep wool. The 3 BOLD (tangerine and fushia infusion) balls are made with dyed wool roving. The 3 NATURAL balls are made with hand spun natural Bare Sheep, wool yarn, thick and thin. All 6 wool balls have dried lavender buds felted into the centre, very tightly and secured. The 6 wool balls are firmly felted. The lavender is from my local lavender farm "Lavender Sense", pesticide free. My wool batting is from a local sheep farmer, hormone, pesticide free and free range. My roving is from both a local supplier and a fellow etsy shop :)
Each ball is approx 7" around but will vary slightly as that's the beauty of handmade :)
**please note**: This set is also suitable as a toy set for babies and children. Great way to teach shape, colour, texture and smell! Also wonderful as home decor...a boho feel, natural and pure home decoration for your shelf, or fave table. These look fab in a funky bowl or vintage jar.
Wool Dryer Balls are a chemical free, eco-friendly alternative to using any fabric softeners including dryer sheets. You just throw your set of dryer balls into the dryer with your clothes. These creations help prevent static cling and they gently and naturally soften your clothes as they dry. Wool pulls moisture from your clothes as they dry, often shortening the time needed to complete a load. The more dryer balls you use at a time, the shorter time needed to dry your load. This makes your laundry chore a greener experience! They extend the life of your clothes and limit the chemicals entering your body because harsh chemicals aren't being used like in liquid fabric softeners and dryer sheets. Each set will typically last years. I read where one blogger said her set has lasted 8 years! The very same original set! Wool Dryer Balls are not loud in the dryer, even if you use 12 at a time(like me!). I've seen plastic dryer balls for sale, with the same premis as wool dryer balls, however, the plastic dryer balls ARE very loud in your dryer, as well, plastic releases dangerous chemicals into the air when heated.
OTHER USES: I've been told that my wool balls are also being used as closet fresheners, drawers fresheners, in the linen cupboard, in a suitcase to freshen things up before travel and during travel. As well, a colourful and funky set looks awesome in a neat container on display between uses OR as unique shelf or table decor!
**NEW TIP**~ if you are doing a lot of very light colours in your dryer, then I suggest a vibrant set of colours so that when you are collecting the dryer balls after a load is complete, they are easy to spot among the light coloured clothing! If you do a lot of dark colours, then you might instead prefer a lighter coloured combo, such as the one pictured here, again, for quick collection :)
"Lavender, also known as Lavandula angustifolia, is one of the most widely used, versatile herbs known today. It is considered a member of the Labiatae family, which also includes mints and the plant originated in England, France, Tasmania, and Yugoslavia.
Lavender flowers have long since been used to treat digestive problems, insomnia, anxiety, and restlessness. Until World War I, lavender was used to treat and disinfect wounds. For centuries, English farmers would place lavender flowers in their hats to prevent headache and sunstroke. Women would place sachets of lavender in their closets and wardrobes for fragrance, in addition to using it in potpourri. Hospitals used lavender as an antiseptic and disinfectant to sterilize surfaces and equipment." ~~ The Many Benefits of Lavender, Alternative and Natural Medicine, tmeetz.hubpages.com/hub/lavender
My wool creations are prepared in my smoke-free home and kept separate from my pets.
