I have created a sensory toy set. It's a set of 6, felted wool balls that are filled with organic lavender buds. Each ball has felted onto it, an accent of "1, 2, 3, A, B or C" as pictured. This set is done in one of each of the 6 primary colours(red, yellow blue, purple, green and orange)
EACH BALL is approx 7" around in circumference(size of a tennis ball). Each ball is made with clean carded sheep wool batting and then wrapped with hand dyed(non toxic) sheep wool roving(jstforewe, etsy) They are securely and firmly felted, but yet light in weight and soft to the touch. The accent on each ball is made with 100% wool yarns, hand dyed and hand spun(jstforewe, etsy). They come with the storage bag that is picture #5. The storage bag is 45% hemp and 55% cotton. It has a draw string closure that is a cotton rope. I have hand stamped the bag with non toxic ink "123" "ABC" and the picture on the bag is of a row of 'ants', a playful accent.
The bag is an added bonus for giving this set as a gift, storage when child/toddler/baby isn't using the set and as well, makes extra fun as the toddler/baby may have fun repeatedly taking the set in and out of the bag and 'hiding' them... The bag also makes for a great guessing game "Can you show me the red ball?" , "can you show me the ball with the letter A on it?"
You will be choosing a completely natural, eco friendly toy. This toy inspires the child to use their own imagination during play. This set stimulates the senses as it has an ever present, soothing and calming scent of lavender. Lavender is safe for babies and children. The organic lavender buds have been securely felted inside each ball. They are tactile and soft. Wool has natural bounce to it. Brightly coloured.
Wool also naturally repels germs and bacteria(as does lavender!)
Each ball has been completely made by hand using a needle. Needle felting is a labour intensive, time consuming art and I have done these toys up with so much love and care!
