Aphrodite – Renewal of Romance, Happiness and Fulfillment in Love
Aphrodite is an Ancient Greek Goddess, the symbol of Sensual Beauty, Love and Passion. She is a manifestation of the divine feminine spirituality and an advocate for the uniqueness of women.
Her existence is the product of the union between Heavens and the Sea. Therefore her patronage offers restoration of balance in the relationships and the renewal of romance.
She combines the radiance and magnificence of her mother Dione with the supremacy and power of her father Zeus. These traits arm her with spiritual strength and make her impervious to destruction.
However Aphrodite is known for her bountiful nature and she could be at times highly emotional and vulnerable. Her characteristics are invoked by enthusiasm for life and the passion she puts into all her endeavors.
Throughout the ages, this goddess has been an inspiration for many artists as an appreciation for love and beauty. Her presence restores romantic bonds, keeps the passion alive and invokes optimistic outlook on the every-day life.
Aphrodite stands 20” tall and is all hand crafted, without using any paints or glue. However the doll-stand and the headgear contain non toxic acrylic paints, glitter and pearls.
Her body is made of skin-color linen, stuffed with fiber filling and covered with aqua-color crocheted body-suit. The face is needle-sculpted, the eyes and lips are hand-embroidered with crochet-threads. The hair is made of shaded yellow and golden yarn; combination of wool and silk. All hair strands are sewn onto the crochet-base (no bald spots) and sewn onto the head. The ornament on her head is made with sea shells, non toxic acrylic paints, glitter and pearls.
Aphrodite wears crocheted slippers, made with yarn that looks like sea-foam. She has crocheted necklace (choker,) anklets and bracelets accented with natural small shells. Her wardrobe consists of a matching skirt that imitates sea-water and sea-weeds. She wears a drape made of delicate fabric, wrapped around her arms and back, the fashion consisted with the ancient Greek costumes. The skirt hugs her hips and is combined with crocheted fringe with pearly beads and (the same as the drape,) sea water color, translucent fabric. A row of pearly beads is sewn around the rim.
The doll stands on the wooden stand decorated with a large natural sea-shell, the symbol of her birth.
This soft sculpture is meant for decorative purpose; however she is sturdily made and doesn’t contain items that would easily come off.
