I love making jewelry and other gifts!
I never had an interest in it until 2008. I resigned a good job, and surprisingly found myself in the beginning of this recession, and was unemployed. So I did my best to keep myself busy. I had always done crafty things, with sewing being my most dedicated hobby. However, my attention turned when I discovered Swarovski crystals. The way they sparkle like diamonds was remarkable to me.......fascinated me.
So, my mom bought me a starter jewelry kit to see if I would like it. Needless to say that was it for me, I've been making items ever sense. I have only become serious the past couple years as I become more regular with progress. I see what is for sale in Macy's, Nordstrom, and Dillards, and I cringe at the price they charge. I work hard to make not only beautiful peices, but also well made items that will last for years to come.
I love that with jewelry...... you can capture interest in the most unexpected ways.
NOW IN 2013, my mom has started quilting. I once again, had no real interest in these puzzles. However, I've been won over with a new hobby. I hope to have some of our quilts up for sale in the next few months, as well as some other items, including beautiful handmade cards. I am also trying different sewing projects such as recycling clothing and making sleeping masks. Not sure what else I will work on, just so I keep being happi and crafty.
