Hi and welcome to Paint It Pretty. My name is Laura. I hope you'll see something you'll like.
I've always loved to paint unusual items. Over the years I've painted pretty much anything paint can adhere to. Everything from flip flops to shovels. When my sons were younger they would ask me what I was doing. I would answer "I'm painting to make it pretty". Over time that was shortened to "paint it pretty". My sons have since grown up but the phrase stayed.
When I was trying to think up a name for my shop my daughter-in-law, who was the one who introduced me to the idea of selling my wok, said stay with what you've always called it. So here we are at Paint It Pretty.
I have an Associates degree in Fine Arts. I draw, paint, sculpt and print. I've always loved working with fabric so my painted bags give me a chance to combine two mediums that I love.
Everything in my shop is drawn by me, painted by me and embellished by me. I do the varnishing and heat setting and hand sew anything with beads. My home is smoke free and pet free so that is not a concern.
I use a lot of my designs over again on different things and in different colors. Anything I make can be custom made if you prefer a different color or design. Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have.
If this was a book I'd write a dedication. It's not but I'm going to anyway.
