To whom it may concern:
My daughter's prom dress was delivered by DHL this afternoon (2/12/18) to our home.
We have an American Bulldog (which is a large dog) in our yard. You cannot miss her, she's a very good watch dog and barks when anyone comes to our house, and she was here when the delivery was made; however, no one else was.
The driver left the package containing the dress at the back door stoop and the dog destroyed it. The door to an enclosed back porch opens onto that same stoop where the package was placed. No other delivery company leaves our packages on the stoop where our dog can get to them, they always put them on the back porch. It's just common sense. This demonstrates negligence, poor customer service and/or poor judgement on the part of the driver to not take a few more seconds to put the package in the enclosed porch where it would be safe, as does FedEx and UPS.
Attached are pictures of where the package was in relation to the back porch, as well as, photos of the destroyed dress. Needless to say my daughter was devastated to come home and find her beautiful prom dress destroyed.
We called DHL about the incident and they advised us to request a refund from your company first and then you could address the issue with DHL. Below is the shipping information:
