We were staying in Paris to get away from your parents (if you can guess the song by this lyric, I probably like you). Paris sounds like a place where most people would like to go and escape from reality. Here's a list of 10 things to do on your visit for a remarkable getaway and extraordinary images that make you want to say, "Bonjour, Paris!".

1. Visit the best streets for designer shopping

Shopping in Paris is paradise if luxury brands make your heart flutter. As the fashion capital of the world, Paris has multiple neighbourhoods and endless high-end retail stores to indulge yourself in a shopping spree. Make your way to Rue Saint Honore where you will find famous brands mixed in with more niche designers. Many fashion week runway shows take place in this stunning high street and well-known magazine editors and style bloggers have been seen shopping for their fashion-forward high street buys here.



Make a stop at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. Even if you have no desire to shop, you will be marvelled by the impressive stained glass dome.

2. If you're a fan of The Da Vinci Code, look out for familiar symbols and hidden meanings at the Church of Saint Sulpice


Thanks to the popular best-selling novel of Dan Brown, Saint-Sulpice church or known as Aglise Saint-Sulpice in French, it has made it to one of the must-see list in every traveller's itinerary when visiting Paris. Being the second largest church in Paris, the church is often overlooked but it is worth a visit as to see one of the settings for The Da Vinci Code. Another reason to visit the church is to see the fascinating pipe organ. 3. Climb the bell tower of Notre Dame

During warm-weathered days, people are often seen picnicking by the canal bank. It is illegal to swim in the canal but there are dare devils and adventure seekers who leap off bridges and into the waters on hot, sunny days. As the both of you are passing under Pont Marie, it is a French tradition to give them a kiss and make an eternal wish for love. Spend a magical evening at the Moulin Rouge watching Feerie, France's famous cancan show, while sipping on champagne. Check out the rich collection of Impressionists arts and be awed by the masterpieces. You can spend a lazy afternoon exploring the museum which used to be an old train station. One thing that makes Musee d'Orsay unique is the spectacular view of Paris that you can catch when you reach the top floor of the museum. You will see a gigantic clock and a jaw-dropping view of Paris that makes time stand still.
