This box is all about figure and depth. The top is tremendously-figured Red Quilted Maple. Additionally, this Maple top features a beautiful spalted streak. The sides and interior top are Tiger Maple. Lovely figure throughout this box that really shimmers with varying light and/or viewer perspective as can be seen in the video.

The joinery on this box is miters with Brazilian Cherry miter keys which have a dual purpose in adding both a decorative element as well as making the miter joint stronger.
The bottom of this box has a premium upholstered, velvet fabric lining.
Finished with a variety of products to enhance the grain as well as provide a high-gloss appearance. Finishing is the most variable and potentially complex part of woodworking. I easily spend the majority of time in my builds in finishing. Many stages... many products are involved in order to achieve what you see in my final products.
