Acrylic on canvas, by Morgan Ralston
2006
Dimensions:
14" x 18"
This was the fourth painting in this series of cityscapes that I began in 2006. I painted each of these cityscape paintings from images captured just hours before the sun set. This was the ideal lighting to capture the city lights and the brightness from the deep blues of the sky, simultaneously. This is probably my favourite painting of the cityscape series. Admittedly at first I wasn't a huge fan but over time this piece grew on me and I still have it hanging in my home.
Using strong colours these cityscape paintings look gorgeous under all sorts of lighting conditions. Any ambiance will accentuate and punctuate their beauty. Because of the powerful bold colour usage this paintings appear larger than their actual dimensions and can fit well in any wall space.
This is an ORIGINAL acrylic painting on a wrapped stretched canvas. This painting comes unframed. The sides of the canvas have been painted to compliment the colour scheme. It's not necessary to frame this painting though framing would be ideal.
