I am a wife and mother living on a farm in rural mid Michigan. Art has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy learning new techniques and creating art in new and interesting ways. I am not one to follow a pattern and like to find crafts that I can change, embellish and morph into my own. I use many different materials and continue to add to my areas of interest. I enjoy needle felting, rug hooking, sewing, working in the garden, baking, cooking, living in the country and being surrounded with animals.
Recently I have discovered the world of Jewelry Making and continue to grow this part of my business. I have found that the jewelry section of business has outgrown my original company, Comforts of Home. Comforts of Home was created to offer products that would create comfort and evoke a sense of home. My jewelry designs have taken on a life of their own and have a more fanciful, playful and magical quality to them. In my jewelry you will find pieces inspired by elves and fantasy, with a art nouveau or Renaissance flair. So Merlin's Apprentice, Jewelry and Design Studio will be my main store for my jewelry designs, while Comforts of Home will continue to carry all of my homey products with some jewelry sprinkled in.
