I'm Nicole, the person behind OpusMuse. I grew up in Singapore, a country about the size of a dot on the map. A city girl who tries not to take life too seriously, likes having her ritual milk coffee & kaya toast (a local favorite) in the morning, after important mommy errands. I'm a right-hander most times, but only answers the phone or carry my bag with my left. Go figure.
I grew up watching my grandma and mom on old style paddle sewing machine. And in the eyes of a young child, the ability to turn a piece of fabric into something beautiful was magical. And so, the seed was planted. I taught myself many different crafts since then, I still sew occasionally, but I found my true calling when I started making jewelry. My designs, materials and techniques evolve with time because I enjoy exploring different mediums and learning new techniques. Most of my designs are in limited runs as I don't like too much repetition, I can get bored easily. Ultimately, I like to think that my handmade trinkets get to travel to places I've never been to & make someone somewhere break into a smile when they receive it. I live for these little things in life you know? :)
I can't imagine not creating or making something. Life would be so meaningless.
And did I tell you I also support handmade? So I do shop handmade from other artisans too. Sometimes more than I should! ;)
