About Blue Nose Trading

Thank you for visiting the shop. Here you find things that I create for sale. Very much hope you enjoy them,

Wheel thrown and altered stoneware. Frequently, clay bodies are combined and altered to create irreplaceable body effect. Unglazed proponents accentuate the beauty of the natural ceramic medium. Glazes developed and mixed in studio. Small batch, one-off pots. Fired oxidation in an electric kiln. A touch of whimsy.

Warm Regards,

Tell us a bit about yourself and Blue Nose Trading ?
I am a multi-talented visual artist working out of Texas, USA. I started Blue Nose Trading as a way to sell all of my creations under one name. The name is inspired from my blue nose pitbull, Azuci, who has been a constant inspiration in my life. I prefer minimalist designs and styles that focus heavily on use of color and balance. I am a photographer, designer, jeweler, wife, potter, painter, friend to animals, exotic pet keeper, fish keeper, house plant and audio book addict. Much of my shenanigans can be found and followed on instagram @bluenosetrading
How did you get started in doing what you do? How long have you been creating?
I have been creating for my entire life and I am always "getting started". Learning knew skills and building upon ones I already have is a lifelong journey for me. My mom was always supportive of any creative endeavor I wanted to undertake. As a child I would draw at my art desk almost everyday. In college, I studied design, painting and illustration at Jacksonville University. I ran Painting at the Bricks Art Studio in Wills Point, Texas where I taught classes. I have been painting pet portraits on commission and for charity since 2015. I have been practicing photography since 2017. I worked jewelry starting in 2018. Currently, I am pursuing ceramics, both as a craft and art form.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I get my inspiration from nature, my family and often right out of thing air. I enjoy hiking and taking photographs. I find inspiration in the small day to day aspects of my life. I like to seek simplicity and serendipity. My husband is also a very talented artist, and he inspires and encourages me daily.
What was your first creation? Do you have a favourite?
I don't know what my "first creation" was. I have been creating since my memories start. I can recall stacks of drawings, art pads and various sculptures from when I was a child. I would say my favorite creation so far is this portrait I made of Azuci in 2019, which I have also adopted as my logo.
What have you created recently?
I have recently been working on developing different glaze colors for a production line of plastic-free, wheel thrown sip top ceramic tumblers.
