About Brendas Always Stitching

Here is a little bit of history about myself before my life went hey wire.

I have always been a craft person. I am constantly trying new patterns and new crafts. I have crocheted since I was a little girl. My sister was learning how to crochet and I wanted to learn how to do it too. My sister and my grandma showed me how crochet over 40 years ago. It is something that helps me relax. I am not a person who can just sit, my hands have to be doing something. My grandma also taught me to be a perfectionist. If I find a mistake I will go back and fix it even if that means starting over. I will not sell something if I am not proud of it. My items are still of a very high quality but it has caused me to finish everything in a much slower time frame. Some of the items listed will be new ideas and others will be some of my favorite patterns.

I enter one of my crochet baby afghans in our county fair every year. In the last 6 years I have usually placed first. The lowest I placed has been 3rd. Our fair is one of the largest in the state of Indiana. Some the other items that I have won first place include crochet dolls, pot holders, and a crochet thread ornament. When you buy from me, you can be sure that it has been made to last and has quality workmanship in every stitch.

I started quilting when I was expecting my daughter. I was taught by a family friend how to quilt by hand. That included hand piecing and quilting. I have made so many baby quilts and a couple of queen size quilt tops. I love it but it is too time consuming for my personality, so I have recently been teaching myself to quilt on my sewing machine. I have to say I love that just as much as hand quilting.

My health went hey wire on me a few years ago. After being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and learning to deal with the daily pain, I found out that I didn't have a very healthy spine. I am now recovering from 2 neck surgeries in one year. There are days that the pain can really get me down so I rely on my crafts to keep me occupied. I am getting back to making new items for my shop. I usually have at least 5-6 projects going at one time. Not being able to work anymore has made my family financially strapped. Selling my crafts on Etsy helps bring a little money coming in to help support my hobbies.

I will take special orders but I try to limit the number of orders I have at one time and the difficulty of the order. I love trying new things so if you have an idea that you want made just convo me and I'll do my best to make just what you are looking for.

A lot of my crafts come from patterns that I have bought online. I will change the pattern most of the time to make it more my style. But I do want to thank all the pattern designers for their hard work. Without those designers I would never know where to start.

I am a huge animal lover and have 2 small yorkiepoos that follow me around the house. They do lay by me when I am crocheting but the don't shed. I always try to put in my listings that our home is a smoke free, dog friendly home.

Thank you for looking at my craft items.

Have a great day!!
