About San Joaquin Creations Wedding Store

I have been stringing beads ever since I was a kid: my mother always made rosaries and wedding lassos as a mean for extra income, I grew up in Michoacan , mx. Then I was placed in a seminary at the Santuario de Nuestra Señora De la Luz, in Guanajuato, Mx. There I learned from the nuns the deigning and different materials for weddings. I now find this very interesting and rewarding. I love making ceremonial items, lassos are my favorites

Most of my materials are imported from Czech Republic , metal crucifixes I get from Mexico, Siblings have shops where they had made every type of religious charms.

Tell us a bit about yourself and San Joaquin Creations Wedding Store ?
I stared this dream about a web store when working as a farm laborer, pruning almond trees was very enjoyable, but I wanted to go back to my childhood hobby: beading rosaries, deigning bridal ethnic items; and so I started San Joaquin Creations in 2002, as a hobby and whole selling only to stores, later decided to venture on Internet and found it more fascinating
How did you get started in doing what you do? How long have you been creating?
I lived in a religious sanctuary, it was all about rosaries and religious items. When We used to go out for walks, we would collect seeds from a beautiful red flower growing by the river( I never knew the name ) we would take them back , pierce them and boil them so the would harden. We would then use them to make rosaries and necklaces which we would then give away as presents to our visitors..
Where do you get your inspiration?
Color combinations are usually just imitations of nature, all surrounding seem to be a perfect match! I visit bridal shops all the time and admire fabrics, but mostly people's attitudes is what give me ideas and inspiration to come and think of new designs. If it feels right, it was meant to be created.
What was your first creation? Do you have a favourite?
My first ever creation was the all round wedding lasso, back when as a kid . Later I learned how to work with wire and metals. As far a favorites , I would just say that working with pearls is my favorite, I love natural pearls, but mostly work with crystal pearls imported from Czech Republic and Austria . I try to carry almost any color which could be used during wedding ceremonies.
What have you created recently?
I am working on a collection of wedding lassos of at least 10 different colors Pearls are by far my favorite beads to work with. But constantly creating new, it just seems like they come naturally when I sit at my working table. I visit bead stores very often and get ideas of what's coming in and new colors by my favorite crystal manufactures which are Swarovski and Preciosa crystals.
