(¸.•´ (¸.•`♥~ I am a 53yr old mother of 3 adult children and wife to my husband Ken for 32 yrs. I live in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. The area is well known for it's pristine lakes, rolling hills filled with vineyards and fruit trees and it's bountiful beaches and warm weather. No better place to be inspired.

I work out of my home based studio, on two acres filled with nut trees, blackberries, fruit trees, a natural spring and pond, which overlook the valley and lake. Our property is a favorite with many wild birds especially the quail, stellar jays who steal our nuts, ravens, woodpeckers, owls and a resident family of pheasants. It's never a surprise to see deer roaming the property, raccoons, squirrels and the very odd cougar or bear. We even have a female coyote who has a den and gives birth to pups every spring. It's always such a joy to watch them when they finally get brave enough to leave the den when their mother goes off to hunt food for them and they frolic, play and wrestle in the grass.

I spend my days tending to my outdoor aviary filled with canaries who give birth to new canaries in the spring/summer. I love spending time with my family but more often then not, making beautiful beads or taking amazing photos.

I was born in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory of Canada. I was also married there and raised my family there on the barge of Lake LeBarge. I attended school in the Yukon as well as British Columbia, Canada. In high school I took every possible art class available to me. One of my art teachers was the well known and colorful Canadian Artist, Ted Harrison.

Unlike most students who took art because it was an easy out. I took it because I loved art. I was fortunate enough to have attended a senior high school that offered a large variety of art classes. More than your typical high school art classes. I was exposed to many mediums. Silk screening, pottery, enamel jewelry making, charcoal and pastel, painting, drawing, textile work, such as batiking, photography, computer graphic design and so much more.

However the one medium that I was not exposed to was lampworking. The art of which I now work with. I was only introduced to lampworking 8 yrs ago. I immediately embraced it and turned it into a full time business and a passion.

I sell my beads here on Etsy as well as on Ebay and from my blog, to jewelry designers, bead collectors and fabric artists, within Canada, United states and abroad.

Lampworking is an art process of making glass beads using a hot torch to melt rods of glass which are made in Italy, Germany and in the US. After creating a glass piece, it is placed in a digitally controlled kiln to properly anneal. This ensures strength and durability and color fastness in the glass.
