I've been crafting, drawing, designing, creating, sewing and handworking all my life, and the inspiration to design dolls has been a frequent joy. How-to information and access to patterns used to be difficult to obtain, but with the advent of the internet and the birth of lovely marketplaces such as this one, designing, sewing, creating and selling my designs is now an exciting opportunity to share with others who are just as inspired by all the lovely possibilities available to crafters!
Throughout all of my artistic endeavors, the Golden Age of Illustration and all of the richly designed and illustrated images in children's books has served to fuel my imagination. I just can't seem to get enough of sweetly-dressed girls and boys with their breezy dresses, mary-jane shoes, peter pan collars and laced-up boots. Fairy tales and fables also figure prominently in the designs that make my heart and head race with the possibilities for keeping these lovely images alive.
And I continue to be inspired every day not only by those images from days gone by, but also by the amazing and talented community of bloggers, crafters, sewers and doll-makers that populate the crafting scene today. I'm so excited to be a part of that community!
