An original design, I created this little cutie in my mountain workshop. I was excited about the idea for the cinnamon stick framed burlap backing.It is so wonderfully rustic. Perfect for a prim or country kitchen or anywhere in the house!

The wall hanging is approximately 6in x 7in, the frame and background are made with burlap, cinnamon sticks and muslin, the corners fastened with hot glue, jute and flannel. The gingerbread girl is made of muslin and dressed in brown flannel with a cheesecloth apron. Her eyes and mouth are stitched with embroidery floss. I made her cheeks nice and rosy using a touch of red ink. She is holding a tiny rolling pin. To finish the piece, I added a fabric heart with a small red button and a hand made grungy tag attached with a rusty safety pin and bell. The hanger is a simple piece of jute. I am so pleased with how this one came out!
