I use high quality plated metals in my jewelry. However, plated metals are more reactive than sterling silver or gold filled jewelry and will oxidize or tarnish more quickly. Plated jewelry is not waterproof and the plating will wear off with use, exposing the different underlying metal colors. The more you wear, the faster the plating wears off.

Your plated jewelry will stay lovely much longer if you follow these guidelines:

*Avoid contact with moisture and chemicals such as water, sweat, lotion, hairspray, perfume, etc.

*Avoid rubbing against hard surfaces to prevent scratching.

*Clean after use with a soft dry cloth to remove dust and skin oil.

*Store jewelry in an airtight container to avoid/slow tarnishing.

*Never use jewelry cleaner on plated jewelry.

*Excessive polishing should be avoided.
