Tell us a bit about yourself and Midnite Hollow ?
I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls and a wife to one patient man! I enjoy cooking, reading, gardening, and general homemaking activities but I need a connection to the outside world!
This is where Midnite Hollow comes in. My shop gives me a much needed creative outlet and a reprieve from the life as a mother and wife. It allows me to fully bloom as the person I am when I am just me :P
Of course my shop would never be possible without the constant inspiration my daughters provide me, nor the support my husband gives me, so don't think for a second that they are forgotten.
How did you get started in doing what you do? How long have you been creating?
I started my shop after much encouragement from my loved ones.
I first learned to sew when I was pregnant with my first child. I made diaper covers and baby clothes. From there I started handing out special handmade gifts on holidays and special occasions.
I am completely self taught and still learning everyday!
Where do you get your inspiration?
My inspiration is as always my children. Seeing as how I still wish to live in a fairytale I am blessed to be able to view the world through their eyes! They keep me focused on the wonders life has to offer...(not necessarily always)
I have always been interested in a world of fairy's and magical forest so I don't have to look very far.
I also try to use my own personal taste in the items I make. If I wouldn't like it, I'm not likely to make it.....unless, you ask me really, really nicely :)
What was your first creation? Do you have a favourite?
My first creation for my shop was actually a Beauty Fold Up Case. I had originally made one for a friend and she said, "you should really sell these". I have yet to see anyone else with something like it!
My favorite creations probably are my wallets, they are so cute and I get to use my artistic talent a little more in the making of them.
What have you created recently?
Recently I made a custom order patchwork wallet. I had so much fun making this wallet. I got to really tap into my creative side and use a bunch of fun fabrics and materials. I also learned a new technique along the way!
