Plushka loves cross-stitch, sewing, crochet and crafting. Being of the Russian heritage I treasure handmade crafts and love spending time creating my own.
Creating from felt is my passion and I enormously enjoy making toys. It's not easy creating a perfect design, but I was lucky so far. The first toy that I made - baby owl - became very popular that gave me a boost of confidence to create other toys like penguin, rabbit, Easter chick and ladybird. I recently released a new toy - elephant and it's been very popular so far!
Although, I consider felt toys as a first and most popular collection, there are other creations that I love like crochet items - baskets, coasters and flowers.
My recent collection of the felt pincushions started the new range - "For your craftroom from Plushka" that I am planning on extending in a full line of goodies.
However, long before the toys, crochet and felt creations, the love for cross-stitch got me into making things. I learned this craft as a child and would love to see it coming back in fashion. I am a strong believer in cross-stitch one day becoming more popular then other types of embroidery. I try to use it as often as possible in my creations that include key rings, notebook covers and New Year decorations.
It's been an enormous leaning curve for me since I've started Plushka's Craft. There were ups and downs but I am so happy and grateful that I have the opportunity to do what I love. It's only the beginning and I cannot wait to see what other year will bring!
