All my products are Limited Editions and have been made to provide beauty, warmth and a sense of comfort for the children that will be using them. As always, their opinion means the most...even if they can’t quite express themselves yet. Colors are bold and bright to excite and stimulate them and patterns are vivid to launch them into glorious dreams.
Tell us a bit about yourself and Lazy Bug Fleece ?
I am a stay at home mom and these creations are sewn while my children are asleep at night. The rest of the house is quiet and I sew in front of a bay window with a midnight -and often a moonlight -view of the pine trees that surround our property.
How did you get started in doing what you do? How long have you been creating?
My son was a premie who wouldn't tolerate a blanket over him at night.
The cotton sheets on the crib were cold, he was cold, and I was up constantly trying to cover him up. I decided if I couldn't keep him warm from the top, I'd do it from the bottom...and so started sewing crib sheets from fleece. It worked. He started sleeping through the night.
This is how my "Bug" became "Lazy"...
Where do you get your inspiration?
Inspiration comes from both necessity and whimsy. I look for innovative and unique solutions to common problems I run into in everyday life as wife and mom. Ideas come from books, playgrounds, friends, magazines, songs, TV shows...basically the entire world around me.
What was your first creation? Do you have a favourite?
The first creation I actually remember was a doll made out of my mothers' pantyhose and some felt and yarn...I was in the 4th grade. I had been creating with my hands for years before...and have been ever since- but the doll made me believe I actually may have some talent....
What have you created recently?
I am always drawing sketches and jotting down notes for new projects. Recent creations will be found in my store as soon as the process is perfected and I am able to provide the best quality I can...until then...the public must wait...
